Our new home!

December 11th, 2022 was a big day for our bees! That’s the day that they were transported from Dan Rau’s apiary to their current site just south of the Adams County Animal Shelter. If you enter the park from 120th Ave, you’ll see them on your left (west side) protected from the winds by bales of straw. That’s Dave Swanson by the truck. He was kind enough to assist with the move.

It was a nice day to move them: 62°F and clear skies.  A perfect day for the bees to be out and about.

Of course, there was one bee that took exception to the move and decided to try and get us.  She finally gave up and went back to the hive once she realized that we were out of reach in our bee suits.
